After a short lived career in law, Phillip Moran changed professions to embark on a hospitality occupation.
He began as Trainee Manager at Crest International Brisbane, where he worked for more than eight years, ending up as Catering Manager at the age of 23.
Another change of direction followed four months of travelling in South East Asia, where his interest in all things botanical took hold.
On returning to Australia, Phillip bought a Catering and Gourmet Take Away business, what he says was a learning curve and somewhat character building, given the economic climate and high interest rates at the time.
The company survived and went on to prosper - catering for high-end legal figures, including Governor James Ramsey, Chief Justice Sir Walter Campbell and Ian Callinan QC.
Selling the business in 1991 and relocating to Cooroy meant Phillip could indulge his love of land, and the life it creates and sustains.
He promotes conservation and sustainability in a range of environmental services and outcomes, undertaking educational programs and working in tandem with local schools to instill in young people a love of the natural environment. Some inspirational stories!
