The Sunshine Coast is fortunate to have a number of major projects either planned or underway which will transform our local economy like never before. However, due to their long term nature we are not likely to see immediate short-term benefits.
The region desperately needs to consider what can be done to turn the economy in the short-term while major projects materialise. This forum aims to assist SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises) to recognise potential in existing markets and to assist in highlighting emerging markets. The region’s short-term economic turn-around will be driven from sectors indirectly related to the development industry.
The ability to capitalise on these opportunities will provide an immediate benefit across our region which ultimately will support the revival of the development industry.
Mayor Mark Jamieson Sunshine Coast Council Mayor Mark Jamieson will provide an update on how Council is progressing with their strategy to stimulate the local economy.
Ted O’Brien LNP Candidate for Fairfax Ted’s presentation will focus on issues surrounding strategic business direction and how to take advantage of existing and future markets.
Gwyn Jarrott Director Sunshine Coast Business Council (SCBC)
Gwyn will discuss the latest research being undertaken by SCBC and how it relates to SMEs and the regional economy.
