Noosa Shire's long awaited Social Plan will make its public debut on Friday, September 22nd at a gathering that will double as an information 'expo', with key community groups showing off their range of services between 10.00 am and 1.00 pm.
The event will be held at the Christian Outreach Centre on the corner of Eumundi and Beckmans Roads, Noosaville and representatives of local organisations wishing to book space at the expo should contact Karen Finzel at Noosa Council's Community Development Unit on 5449 5100, prior to Tuesday, September 19th.
Mayor Bob Abbot will launch the Social Plan at 11.00. He describes it as a 'landmark document that will enable Council to plan the provision of essential services for this and coming generations'.
Community Development Manager Sandie Pitter reports the day will also mark the roll out of the Social Charter, "which is a series of statements about the values that are dear to the hearts of Noosans," she explains. "The Social Charter came about because throughout our community consultation process, residents kept reiterating identical reasons as to why they live here and what is important to them about this community. Those values have been recorded in the form of a Social Charter to ensure those values continue to guide social planning in Noosa."
