If one ever needs an excuse to attend a long, lazy lunch filled with sunshine, social interaction and bubbles, then the Starlight Children’s Foundation’s Inaugural Noosa Ladies Lunch might just be the one.
On Thursday October 6, Starlight Children’s Foundation in association with Outrigger Little Hastings Street Resort & Spa will present a sumptuous two course lunch matched with a selection of beautiful wines for just $65 per person, with all funds raised going to the Starlight Children’s Foundation to brighten the lives of seriously ill children.
Gift bags filled with items generously donated by local businesses will be presented to each guest, whilst raffles including major prizes of a diamond watch from Anthony’s Fine Jewellers (valued at $700) and a five- star luxury accommodation package at Emporium Hotel Brisbane (valued at $400) will ensure that the day is destined to become a major social and fundraising calendar event.
Prominent Sunshine Coast businesswomen and Starlight Children’s Foundation Advisory Board members, Chris Cameron of Rockcote and Elizabeth Lynn, will host the social fundraising event together with a local MC.
According to Amanda Sams, Queensland State Partnerships Manager of Starlight Children’s Foundation, the Foundation receives no government funding and exists through the fundraising efforts of events such as the Inaugural Noosa Ladies Lunch.
“We thank Outrigger and our other generous sponsors for assisting with this inaugural Noosa event and know that the attendees will enjoy a wonderful lunch knowing they are also supporting a good cause.”
Outrigger Hotels & Resorts’ Regional General Manager, Australia, Grant James said the international hotel company was proud to partner with Starlight Children’s Foundation.
“We have been a holiday supporter of Starlight for the past two years hosting seriously ill children and their families and hope that our continued support of Starlight Children’s Foundation helps to brighten the lives of many more children and their families,” he added.
Coinciding with the Noosa Ladies Lunch is Starlight Children’s Foundation’s annual ‘Serving up Smiles’ campaign, whose Ambassador is cooking great, Neil Perry.
Serving up Smiles is supported by restaurants nationally and encourages patrons to leave a donation during September and October to help Starlight reach its goal of granting one wish every day of the year for a seriously ill child.
Tickets for the Starlight Children’s Foundation Inaugural Noosa Ladies Lunch can be purchased for $65 per person by phoning 07 3456 0408 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.

ABOUT STARLIGHT CHILDREN’S FOUNDATION
The sad reality is that every minute of every day a child is admitted to hospital in Australia. Starlight’s mission statement is “To brighten the lives of all seriously ill children and their families.”
The pain, loneliness and isolation that seriously ill children feel can dominate their lives. They often miss out on normal experiences healthy children take for granted. Many children will live with their condition their whole life, and for seriously ill children, physical treatment is only part of the solution.
Since 1988, the Starlight Children’s Foundation has been providing innovative programs designed to lift the spirits of children and their families when they need it most. Starlight brings laughter and support to children no matter what their illness or where they live.
Delivered both in and out of hospital, Starlight’s programs provide a positive distraction to children, their siblings and parents. Starlight’s programs are integral to the total healthcare of children, providing a healing environment that includes entertainment, diversion, fun, laughter and joy.
Starlight is dedicated to all children and families across Queensland. Children from rural Queensland have access to support through the Starlight Express Room and Captain Starlight at the Mater Hospital, Brisbane. Starlight also provides Starlight Fun Centres to regional hospitals across Queensland .
The Starlight Wish granting program reaches all Queensland children. This year Starlight aims to grant one wish per day.
Starlight is also reaching out into remote and regional areas with our Northern Territory programs where Captain Starlight has a permanent presence in Darwin Hospital and travels to indigenous communities to work alongside the health professionals by delivering positive healthcare messages.
Starlight is the only organization to have a permanent presence in all our major paediatric hospitals around the country – delivering our programs 7 days each week to children with all types of illnesses & conditions and to those children who have been injured in accidents.
