Val 'Top Dog' Lehaman Returns To The Stage In A Nude Production!

(Sunshine Coast's first professional tour)

The heart warming, ribald classic, STEAMING, by Nell Dunn, will embark on an Australian east coast tour next month, with Val Lehman, (Bea Smith of Prisoner) who previously directed and appeared in the Queensland tour for Jally Entertainment. She will reprise her role of Mrs Meadow, the mother of a 'challenged' young woman, Dawn. (Kym McGregor) who share their frustrations and some laughs each week at their local bathhouse, in the east end of London. The weekly 'ladies day' includes six very different women.

Josie (Alli Pope) promiscuous and feisty, with a saucy story to tell, normally to do with a sexual conquest or fantasy, much to the disgust of the other ladies. She hates poverty and boredom! Nancy (Vanessa Wells) and Jane (Amanda McKay) are old school friends that have finally caught up with each other only to realise they are now both completely different. Nancy is uptight and reserved in every way. Jane's an old "hippie" that has travelled the world. The Bathhouse manager, Violet (Kay Melhuish) is always ready with a towel and a listening ear. As the long serving, backbone of this run down council owned establishment, Violet instigates a retaliation of these women to stand up and fight against the closure of the old bathhouse.

This sometime controversial play where six women of all conditions come to bare their bodies, souls and fantasies is all about friendship, finding your place in the world and fighting for what you believe in.

Steaming will tour 26 venues with 44 performances along the east coast commencing on 6th August and concluding in October.
