BE AWARE – DA MCU11/0153
Broadcasting Australia P/L has submitted a DA to SSCRC for the construction of two 88m high (290 ft, 27 storey) AM radio towers and guy wire grid in canefields at 267 Valdora Road, Valdora.
These towers will destroy the visual amenity of this pristine rural environment and affect the surrounding areas of Valdora, Ninderry, Maroochy River, Yandina Creek and North Arm.
From a visual amenity perspective, the proposal flies directly in the face of clear policy directions established by the Council itself. These reports confirm Council commitments that caneland should not be developed in any way that would detract from the natural beauty, visual amenity or cultural heritage of the pristine rural area.
Extensive medical research has reported that EME radiation planned for these towers has “potential” to create serious radiation health risks, including childhood leukaemia. Moreover, it is reported that the risk is heightened for residents of elevated properties in the locality. Given that the towers will directly face the residential areas on the flanks of Mount Ninderry, serious questions arise about the potential harm that will be caused by the electromagnetic emissions(EME) radiated from the proposed facility. Do some research, search the net. For further information or a pro-forma objection letter e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
