We're hosting a screening of the new documentary #StopAdani: A Mighty Force. It's the story of the unstoppable movement to stop Adani and what we need to do to. From remote central Queensland where the mine is proposed to be built, to rallies in metropolitan Melbourne and Sydney, this David and Goliath battle is one of the most determined and focused campaigns in Australia's recent history.
Will you come and see just how many people are part of this urgent fight to #StopAdani? As Juru Traditional Elder Carol Prior says, "Adani is dealing with a mighty force. And the more it grows, the harder we'll be to beat." The evening is a fundraiser to support the campaign.
All proceeds will go towards grassroots efforts to #StopAdani on the ground and here on the Sunshine Coast. Entry is by donation. Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be available on the night. --- EARTH HOUR 24 March is also Earth Hour 2018.
Every year, hundreds of millions of people around the world in more than 7,000 cities in over 180 countries take part in this amazing global conservation movement. Millions choose to mark Earth Hour by going 'lights out' for 60 minutes at 8.30pm – a symbolic show of solidarity. And this year, Stop Adani Sunshine Coast is getting on board!
Our screening of A Mighty Force will conclude at 8PM, and we'll host an optional Earth Hour candlelight supper from 8:30PM to 9:30PM. We'd love for you to stick around and join us in the world's biggest movement to protect our planet. All you have to do is bring a plate to share on the night and be merry :)
