Community bought grand piano brings in top Australian trio.

Come and hear the beautiful grand piano housed in the acoustic charm of Cooran Hall in an exclusive, up close and personal concert on Friday 5th December at 7:30pm. Bought through generous community donations and the proceeds from HausMusik concerts held in the hall, this beautiful piano has been proudly installed hoping to attract musicians of international acclaim to come tickle it's ivories and bring the sound of fine classical music to the Noosa Hinterland.

A classical music lover's summer dream, the concert features the Endeavour Trio comprising of eminent musicians Paul Dean on clarinet, Stephen Emmerson on piano and Louise King on cello. Known for their artistic excellence and adventurous programming, the Endeavour Trio's combined soloists are celebrated Australia-wide for their exuberance and musicality in performance.

"Having performed for the inaugural HausMusik concert at the Cooran Hall two years ago, I wanted to support this fabulous community initiative of buying a piano by bringing them a gorgeous pianist to play on it" says Sunshine Coast based cellist Louise King. "Dr. Stephen Emmerson is a senior lecturer and pianist in celebrated Griffith Piano Trio, Queensland Conservatorium's ensemble-in-residence. He is revered around the world as a remarkable musician and man - warm, generous and spine-tinglingly good."

Possessing a superb acoustic, rivalling that of the best concert halls in the world, the Endeavour Trio's soloists will perform a summer tapestry of Brahms, Ross Edwards, Benjamin Frankel and Schultz trios.

"As a composer myself, I am excited about performing Andrew Schultz's new work 'After Nina', a lyrical, lush and evocative piece, beautifully suited to the colours of the clarinet, cello and piano," says Paul Dean, director of Southern Cross Soloists - Australia's finest wind chamber ensemble. "The other pieces in the program celebrate the soothing and velvety colours of the clarinet which blends so evocatively with the rich, dulcet tones of the cello - the piano underpins and envelops these two melodic lines. The repertoire is a joy to play and gives us all room to express so many colours and emotions."

As passionate educators, the trio are also excited at presenting a community music masterclass on Saturday 6th December for talented, aspiring classical musicians in the Sunshine Coast region. Interested participants can apply online or phone Louise for more info on 0415 128799.
