The SUNCOAST SINFONIA has achieved tremendous things in two short years! This wonderful ensemble of leading local musicians has won itself a great reputation for entertaining concerts and beautiful music-making.  It has developed into the Coast's leading orchestra and achieved rave reviews for its performances.

Conducted by Graeme Young and led by acclaimed musical identity Julie-Anne O'Reilly, the Sinfonia attracts a growing and enthusiastic audience each time it performs.  Its concerts feature a combination of well-known and attractive music, each one highlighting the talents of one or two superlative soloists.

The first concert (of a 4 concert series for 2004) is on Sunday 29th February 2.30pm at St Mark's Anglican Church, Buderim.  A Kiwi Connection, conducted by Graeme Young and narrated by Timothy Page, introduces audiences to a moving 1942 New Zealand composition for narrator and strings dealing with the discovery of NZ 300 years earlier by Dutch navigator Abel Tasman, and the disastrous problems he experienced on landing.

You can purchase tickets to this concert of wonderful music and unforgettable poetry through Maroochy Venues & Events (located in the foyer of the Nambour Civic Centre)  ph: 5475 7777.
