The Dalai Lama as you have never seen him before....at home.
His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama is visiting Australia this June on 'A Man of Compassion & Wisdom' tour. As part of the tour The Dalai Lama in Australia Office is delighted to host a touring photo exhibition in conjunction with an Australian Premiere Screening of the Documentary Film, Sunrise Sunset -- a day in the Life of His Holiness the Dalai Lama at home.
Granted total access to His Holiness for 24 hours, this is a day in the life of the Dalai Lama at his residence in Dharamsala, India. From his early morning prayers at 3am to his bedtime at dusk, you are granted a rare glimpse into his daily routine.
The exiled spiritual leader of the Tibetan people has said of himself: "Sometimes people call me a living Buddha or a God King, but I always say, this is nonsense. I am a simple Buddhist monk. Through this film you will realize, I am a normal human being, nothing special. Just a normal Buddhist monk."
Starting with his morning fitness routine and continuing on through the private audiences, press conferences, and blessings he imparts every day, it is a comprehensive and compassionate document of his everyday habits. As the sun begins to set, and with his duties completed, the Dalai Lama sits down with the filmmakers for a wide ranging interview covering topics related to the essence of the Universe, the gap between rich and poor, and the role an individual has to play in religion and contemporary society.
