Network joins in global celebrations
The Sunshine Coast Business Women's Network will join thousands of other organisations around the world to celebrate International Women's Day, by hosting a breakfast at the Hyatt Regency Coolum on March 10.
The breakfast is being sponsored by long-time International Women's Day supporter, Neuendorf Interiors and will welcome former Australian Business Woman of the Year and Goodtime Surf Director, Gail Austin OAM to share her remarkable story with those attending the event.
Whether in the boardroom or out on the waves, Gail is a force to be reckoned with. An industry leader, Goodtime revolutionised the retail surf sports industry in Australia, pioneering innovative designs and technologies throughout its history.
The wall's of Gail's Goodtime store at Woolloongabba display the many notable honours awarded to her, reminders of great moments on the sporting dais and recognition of a life devoted to giving back to the community.
Sunshine Coast Business Women's Network President, Sue Willis is excited to welcome one of Australia's most dynamic business women as part of their International Women's Day celebrations, which recognises the trials and triumphs of women world-wide.
"There won't be a woman attending the breakfast who won't be inspired by what Gail Austin has achieved in both her professional and personal life. Dedicated to enriching the lives of others, she is a great ambassador for business women across the community," said Sue.
Along with Gail's impressive list of achievements, she has worked tirelessly to help many of those less fortunate and it is this that she notes as her most cherished and rewarding contribution.
International Women's Day, since its birth in the socialist movement, has grown to become a global day of recognition and celebration across developed and developing countries alike.
"International Women's Day is about recognising the contribution made by women across all walks of life through career, community and in the home," said Sue Willis
International Women's Day, officially celebrated on March 8 every year, has come a long way from being a reminder about the adversity that women faced to the celebration of their achievements.
The breakfast will be held at the Hyatt Regency Coolum from 6:30am, tickets are $45 for members and $60 for non-members and includes a complimentary glass of Champaign on arrival. Book online or contact Chelsea Hunter on 0412 525 854.
