The Sunshine Coast Solstice Swim Charity Swim is an Ocean Swim that is open to all levels of experience and is carried out under the watchful eye of the fantastic team at Alex Surf Club.

Our 1km course is the perfect introduction to ocean swimming. Or if you’re seasoned ocean swimmer, the 2km course might just be enough. Maybe you’d like to push your limits beyond the typical open water distance with our 3km course.

Whether you are seasoned swimmer or aspiring triathlete, it’s a great opportunity to conquer your PB while making a difference to our community and helping raise funds for Charity.

The first Sunshine Coast Solstice Swim took place last year with 50 swimmers heading to the beach outside the Alexandra Headlands Surf Club on a beautiful Sunday morning.

The fund raising success of the event depends on the generosity of the attendees, supporters and volunteers.

We are looking for new and exciting things this year and our team is working hard to extend our horizons to help this year grow bigger and better.

All funds raised will be donated back into the local community by supporting local 'Rotary, Alexandra Headland' and 'The Young Veterans' here on the Sunshine Coast - charities we believe are close to the heart for many people.

The Young Veterans aim to provide the facilities and equipment for Australia’s growing veteran community to be able undertakes outdoor recreational activities which help young veterans (and their families) manage and handle matters such as:

•    reduce isolation
•    connect with welfare services
•    better access housing
•    advocates to assist injuries
•    employment services
•    psychological assistance
•    crisis line information
•    help for whole family, education assistance for children
•    relationship counselling to hold families together

And Rotary is a non-profit organisation, entirely made up of volunteers and we are very proud of our achievements and the hard work our members put each and every day. We love giving back to the community and this event is just one way we do that.

All generosity is gratefully received and certainly does go a long way in helping us raise money for two very good charities, without the kindness of our sponsors, the attendees and our volunteers, the event simply would not be the tremendous success it is each year.

There is no better way to start the day then with an open water swim at the beach!

Go on….you know you want to!

Alexandra Headland Rotary Club, Alex Surf Club. and Young Veterans hopes to see you there!
