TAKE A KID FISHING DAY IS ON AGAIN!
The Caloundra Power Boat Club Fishing Club, sponsored by SUNFISH, will be holding their annual Take a Kid Fishing Day on Sunday 26th April on the Golden Beach foreshore registering at Ayliffe Park (the Lions Club shelter) and fishing the safe waters of the Pumicestone Passage in front of the park.
The day will commence at 8.00am and finish at 12.00pm and it is free. Look for the big marquee at the park and come and enjoy some family fun.
Kids must register for the day and be accompanied by an adult. Registration forms will be available and these forms become the ticket in a number of prize draws for tackle vouchers and goods supplied by the Recreational Fishing Tackle Industry, Bills Boat and Bike Hire, Caloundra Fishing World and the Caloundra Power Boat Club.
The Department of Primary Industries and Fisheries will be sending two of their officers together with a couple of volunteer fish care officers who will be available to share some knowledge in the importance of looking after our marine environment.
The kids will need to bring along their own fishing rod reel and tackle and some bait. Worms, prawns or yabbies will be ideal. Don't forget to wear a hat and plenty of sunscreen.
The Caloundra Power Boat Fishing Club members will be on hand to assist the kids on the day in a safe and friendly venue for the whole family to fish and enjoy.
A free sample bag for the kids will be available and at the conclusion of the morning a free sausage sizzle will be supplied by the fishing club when the lucky draw for the fishing gear and vouchers will also take place.
