Annual Agricultural Show featuring Ring Events, Stud & Prime Cattle, Dairy Cattle, Pavilion Exhibits, Woodchop, Machinery Alley, Ute Show, Entertainment Galore including Fireworks and the Finale of the Show, a chamionship Rodeo.
We have the best Grand Parade in Queensland with the exception of the Brisbane Royal on People's Day.
Our Ring Events are rated as the best in Queensland and one of the three best in Australia.
This excellence is recognised throughout the country and its many outstanding organisations and has resulted in us being granted the right to host the Australian Showjumping Championships in 1997 and again in 2002. The Australian Show Jumping events are the most prestigious in the country and are regularly reserved for Royal Shows or shows in major provincial cities. The Gympie District Show is the only country show to ever be honoured to host this event.
Our show is interesting and entertaining to people of all ages and all walks of life because we present a modern format to the traditional show while still maintaining the events that our region excels in and has done so for the past 117 years.
The ring events include a Grand Parade and an impressive Opening Ceremony, both of which take place on the Friday, Peoples Day. Thursday night's Fireworks are a big event and always draws people of all ages. Saturday is the final day and is the last chance for the public to experience the best our region has to offer as well as Gympie's Ute Muster. During these three days an average of twenty-five thousand people come through our gates to experience our region at its best.
The Gympie Show adheres to the traditional concept of the agricultural show with interesting and entertaining events and displays. Each section offers strong competition and excellent displays for our visitors.
