Tell 'em they're dreaming...'The Castle' screening at Flicks in the Sticks, Eumundi
Eumundi Outdoor Cinema 'Flicks in the Sticks' will get the family laughing with a screening of 'The Castle' (PG) on Saturday 22 January at the Eumundi Showgrounds.
Flicks in the Sticks Director Trent Harvison says the Flicks team are excited to bring this Australian classic starring Eric Bana, Michael Caton and Steve Curry to the big screen.
"We've timed the screening for the weekend before Australia Day," says Trent. "It truly is an Aussie comedy masterpiece, and is bound to appeal to movie lovers young and old."
"It's hard to imagine a family with less taste or less of a clue about life than the Kerrigans," says Trent. "And yet by the end of the film, despite all the laughing and cringing, you'd be happy to call them your own!"
"It's a film that is definitely going straight to the pool room," he says.
Come along from 6pm when the gates open to get yourself a spot, in preparation for the screening to start around 7pmish. Short movies will be shown before the feature.
Bring something to sit on -- a tarp and picnic rug or chair -- or contact Flicks in the Sticks to reserve a beanbag or inflatable double chairs for hire.
"We'll have food available with nachos, hot dogs, popcorn, drinks and all the essential movie munchies," Trent says "So bring the family and join us in celebrating all things Aussie".
A bit about the movie...
The Kerrigan family are a typical Aussie 'battler' family -- very happy living where they do, near the Melbourne airport. This never seemed to be a problem for them until the airport authorities decide to expand -- and force the Kerrigans to leave their beloved home. 'The Castle' is Dale Kerrigan's story of his family's David Vs Goliath battle with the airport as they fight to remain in and keep their home. Along with a hapless lawyer and a generous QC, they take their case all the way to the High Court, proving 'a man's home is his castle'...
