a part of Anywhere Theatre Festival

The Cave is a musical performance intended to provoke the audience to think about how we acquire knowledge. It draws on Plato's 'allegory of the cave' - ‘Like the fire that cast light on the walls of the cave, the human condition is forever bound to the impressions that are received through the senses’.

2 world class musicians - violist, Sally Clarke (Radio Symphony Orchestra Stuttgart, Australian World Orchestra) and cellist Louise King (BBC Philharmonic, Australian Chamber Orchestra, Cello Dreaming) will play a selection of works by classical and contemporary composers around the theme of dreams and dances.

The audience will be seated in a 3D surround screen 'digital cave'. They will be blindfolded for the duration, with only their devices to help them 'see'.
