With a name like Dingo Creek, it's clear that this boutique vineyard, set in the rolling hills of Traveston south of Gympie in Queensland, has true blue roots and is the perfect venue for the annual award-winning Dingo Creek Wine, Jazz and Blues Festival, proudly presented by The Gympie Rotary Club.
The event, which encapsulates this country's down-to-earth, egalitarian, 'love a good time' spirit in a weekend of music in the bush, has fast gained something akin to cult status as those in the know spread the word as far as Western Australia and overseas.
Great blues, spectacular jazz, delicious food with complimenting home-grown wines flow in the relaxed community atmosphere, where it's common to ask one of Australia's jazz and blues legends to 'pass the sauce' for your breakfast snags. "It's out of the box, you can meet and greet your favourite musician in an environment second to none, and enjoy the weekend by just bringing along your sleeping bag," said renowned Big Band musician John Morrison, who is a regular performer at the festival.
Lush Noosa hinterland, Queensland wines, serious Australian jazz and pumping blues - can you think of a better way to spend a weekend?
No?... Neither can we. We'll drink to that!

The Dingo Creek Wine Jazz and Blues festival is set for the 19, 20 & 21 of October 2012, with new organisers, the Gympie Rotary Club, at the helm. There will be no major changes to the presentation of the event - it will still be held at Dingo Creek vineyard with camping from Friday through to Monday. The Club will expand the festival by including entertainment on Friday night, providing an extra 5 - 6 hours of great music.
The vineyard is very excited to hand the event over to such a dedicated organisation as Gympie Rotary, with some members having been involved in the running of the Gympie Muster for years, previous co-ordinators David and Marg Gillespie know the event is in good hands.
