Jally Productions that Theatre Company based in Noosa and run by husband and wife team John Bailey and Alli Pope are hard at work with the 2007 season.

If you are amongst the 1000's that have flocked to some of their productions such as Gilligan's Island and The Castle at the Cavern Theatre, Sunshine Beach, and registered with them for the 2007 season of Steaming in January starring Val Lehman (Prisoner), well the next big news is the musical The Full Monty, one of the most successful British films ever made, will open at the Cavern Theatre on Friday 29th June 2006 until Saturday 7th July 2007 and then move onto the Caloundra Cultural Centre from 13th to 15th July and the Gympie Civic Centre from 20th to 22nd July.

Three of the performances in Noosa are already sold out to social groups.

The 1997 British film, which told the story of out of work steelworkers who strip to raise some cash, has been transformed into an American song and dance extravaganza.

It will be stage directed by Peter Blyth and musical direction by Bruce Barnett, both local and award winning in their field. Mel Lanham has been appointed choreographer, well known on the coast in her field.

The location has been changed from Sheffield to Buffalo in upstate New York, but the themes of the movie remain intact with emasculated out-of-work and out-of-shape men venting their angst in song.

Producer John Bailey said "A few new characters have been added and the women's roles have been strengthened"

The 1997 movie was made for $3.5m and according to latest figures has grossed more than $250m world-wide.
