THE TEWANTIN NEIGHBOURHOOD GROUP of the Australian Sewing Guild -- known as The Guilded *Lilies* Sewing Circle. *(Ladies industriously learning interesting exciting sewing). Will be meeting on Saturday 27th February 2010 commencing at 9.00 am until 3.00 pm at the Masonic Hall, cnr of Moorindil and Toolar Streets, Tewantin, Qld 4565.
This months tutor is Maureen Thompson who will be teaching the group "Understanding and Choosing Patterns" This will cover many aspect of knowing the right pattern for you figure type. The requirements for the day will be:
A couple of sheets of A4 paper
(Notes will be provided)
Pencil or Pen as you will be drawing on the A4 sheets of paper
A piece of elastic or tape to put around your waist
A copy of a measuring chart will be provided.
TIPS: Wear good underwear that will give you support for accurate measurements.
Be prepared to strip down to your bra to get accurate upper measurements.
The Tewantin Group has a regular program with a different topic each month. For the prospective new members, the group is made up of enthusiastic people, with varying skills from the novice to the specialist. Members bring their sewing machines and lunch and in a friendly environment explore both basic dressmaking and decorative sewing techniques.
