Leading Sunshine Coast based small business psychology specialist, George Bakrnchev, who is the founder of Red Day® Coaching with 8 franchise partners spanning Australia and New Zealand says it is ‘make or break time’ for many Sunshine Coast businesses who desperately need a successful Christmas/summer period to recover from what continues to be a challenging economy.
“Let’s face it – 2011 has been another tough year for many Sunshine Coast businesses. We started with the chain reaction from the floods in Queensland, the effects of the Global Financial Crisis continue to be felt by some, and for a variety of other reasons, unfortunately, we all know businesses who have become casualties along the way. From what I can see the tourism, hospitality and retail industries on the Coast have been particularly hit with many of them blaming the economy, but it doesn’t have to be this way,” says Bakrnchev.
Bakrnchev says it was during a dismal economy in 1991 that he had a wildly successful turnaround in business, but that it required a dramatic mindset shift and focussing on restructuring his entire approach to business to achieve both growth and time off. In an 18 month period he turned a struggling business with sales of $600,000 to a $3.2m.
“The aim of every business should be to create a bigger life, not a business that takes it away from you. But sadly this is often what happens to Sunshine Coast business owners who often move here or live here for lifestyle but end up having ‘no life’. We need to do whatever we can to create robust local businesses and to support them to have a bumper Christmas/summer period this year.”
To help them along, Bakrnchev is offering a free two and a half hour event valued at $197 to Sunshine Coast business owners, where he will share his top business turn-around success stories including real life examples and figures from his years in business.
“I genuinely care about the state of the local economy – I live here – so offering some free events to do what I can to help local business owners have an exceptional Christmas/summer period is the least I can do,” he says.
The event’s major sponsor is Brisbane based accounting firm Online Accounting & Taxation Solutions. Partner Brad Peters said Online Tax were strong believers in both the principles and practical usefulness of Red Day coaching.
“We’ve seen first-hand how Red Day coaching can substantially improve profitability and operational effectiveness of different types of business,” Mr Peters said.
“The chance to enjoy George’s engaging success story and hear how he used his experiences to develop the successful Red Day principles is an opportunity too good to miss.”
