THE JAZZ TEA PARTY RETURNS TO THE J

Following its triumphant opening in February 'The Jazz Tea Party' returns to the J and a loyal, cheerful fan base on Thursday the 1st of May at 9am.

The famous 'Jazz Factory' is sure to create a bright and breezy atmosphere in next to no time. Using a wide range of material with over 600 songs in their repertoire they will easily pull out some of the all time favourites of this time's theme "New Orleans Jazz". This style of music includes well known evergreens like: "When the Saints Go Marching In," "Muskrat Ramble," "Tiger Rag," "I Found a New Baby" or "Tin Roof Blues". All of these tunes were widely played by jazz bands and came to be grouped as Dixieland / New Orleans standards in the 1950s.

Whether conducting a sing along whilst strolling through one of Noosa's best restaurants in Hastings St., playing their now famous weekly Jazz Cruise every Tuesday on the Noosa River or giving a concert for thousands at festivals, the Jazz Factory gives every performance their best. They have played on planes, boats, mountaintop weddings, hardware stores and on the back of a truck! Like a good red wine this band travels and stays well!

So, come along to the J for a morning of life entertainment, drawing on an earlier era of love songs, rip roaring jazz and great fun times.

Tickets to this morning, filled with great music, fun, laughter and great company are only $12 and include a light morning tea (coffee, tea, cookies) and are available by phoning on 5455 4455. Group bookings welcome.

JAZZ TEA PARTY @ THE J

On Thursday the 21st of February the curtains at the J in Noosa will be drawn at 9am for the grand start to a new series: The Jazz Tea Party.

Everyone young at heart will thoroughly enjoy this fun morning with live entertainment featuring the famous 'Jazz Factory'. Each of the new quarterly events for seniors will be themed differently: Louis Armstrong, New Orleans, The Crooners and the Roaring Twenties.

The popular 'Jazz Factory' from Noosa draws its inspiration from an earlier era of love songs, rip roaring jazz and great fun times. They use a wide range of material with over 600 songs in their repertoire. If you like Louis Armstrong, Irving Berlin and Duke Ellington, you will love this band! Three of the band members sing so you won't, go short of some great vocals. One of the great delights of this band is the clean sound and harmonic balance achieved by the musician's compatibility, no doubt partially as a result of the many gigs played together over the last 13 years.

The "Jazz Factory" is in great demand to perform at festivals and functions from the Gold Coast to Townsville. Hence the boys are likely to pop up anywhere, as far a field as Sydney, Alice Springs or The Hunter Valley.

Whether conducting a sing along whilst strolling through one of Noosa's best restaurants in Hastings Street, giving a concert for thousands at festivals or playing especially to entertain you at the J, the "Jazz Factory" gives their best performance every time.

Creative groups or individuals, especially seniors, will also be offered 30mins to entertain the crowd with a dance, song verse or any creative expression. To apply please contact Kim Cross Ph 5455 4578 or kcross@noosa.qld.gov.au
