FAREWELL THE SUMMER WITH SNEAKY SOUND SYSTEM AT THE MALIBU SUNSET SOCIAL, SUNSHINE COAST
On their way to global domination Sneaky Sound System, Australia's numero uno dance act, will be making a special stop at the final Malibu Sunset Social, taking place on Saturday 5 May on the Sunshine Coast at Quad Park, Kawana Waters.
For those who missed out on a ticket to the first Malibu Sunset Social in Queensland where international DJ Todd Terry played to an adoring crowd of thousands - a grace has been granted. The second Malibu Sunset Social, with an even bigger line-up, is just around the corner.
Summer has gone, and so have a few hundred bucks (and then some) on festival tickets - so free tickets would be like a gift from the music gods. Can we get a Hallelujah? Music festival lovers can secure their free double pass by going to www.malibusunsetsocial.com.au
and registering their details.
Guaranteed party-starters, Australia's Sneaky Sound System, will headline the festival on the eve of their Australian tour. The Sydney-based trio of MC Double D, Miss Connie and Black Angus have had a massive 12 months. They scored national support slots with Jamiroquai, Robbie Williams and the Scissors Sisters, collaborated with Kanye West and Snoop Dogg, and in their spare time released their hugely successful self-titled album.
Next on the bill is San Francisco's highly acclaimed DJ, producer and songwriter Andy Caldwell. Andy had his first club hit back in 1994 with his track "Superfunkidiculous", and went on to produce many successful releases as a solo artist as well as in the collaborative outfit Soulstice. His signature production style can also be heard on the soundtracks of films and TV series such as Forces of Nature, Six Feet Under and Boston Public. The past three years has seen Andy focus on touring as a DJ, perfecting his signature sets of electro and progressive-infused Deep House.
Joining Andy on stage will be world-renowned vocalist and choreographer Barbara Tucker. Barbara has been a powerful force on the New York club scene for years and has performed all over the world with the likes of the Pet Shop Boys, Deee-lite, and C&C Music Factory.
Representing Australia will be The Stafford Brothers who are regular faces on the QLD scene and have now introduced into their act a percussive and brass section with a live PA from Timmy Trumpet who has made his mark as arguably one of Sydney's best DJ side kicks.
