Monday 28 November 2005 The Program - THE school holiday guide this summer
There's no excuse for cries of boredom these school holidays with Caloundra City Council launching a new initiative that features the Coast's most comprehensive school holiday activities, The Program.
Caloundra City Mayor Don Aldous said the City's Youth Activities Services, Libraries, Art Gallery and Lifeguards had teamed together for the first time to provide a comprehensive program of activities for young people of all ages.
"The Program is a detailed guide which offers a variety of activities from surfing to singing, "Cr Aldous said.
"Not only can we boast the biggest summer holiday program ever, it's also the first time we've brought all the activities together in one easy to use guide.
The jam-packed program kicks off on December 12 and continues throughout the school holidays.
Highlights include an unplugged acoustic session, a contest to find Caloundra's brainiest kid, Christmas craft and trivia, cartooning workshops, skating competition and learn to surf lessons, plus much more.
Bookings for all activities are limited, so young people will need to get in quickly to reserve their spot, Cr Aldous said.
The Program is available from Libraries, Council's Customer Service Centre, visitor information centres, school administrations and the Caloundra Regional Art Gallery.
