The Waifs arrive on the Sunshine Coast
The Waifs, one of the country's hottest musical exports, are headed to the Lake Kawana Community Centre as part of their national tour in September.
Caloundra City Acting Mayor Don Smith said tickets are now on sale for The Waifs exclusive appearance at the Lake Kawana Community Centre on Thursday 25 October.
The tour celebrates the release of The Waifs latest album, Sun Dirt Water, which goes on sale on Saturday 1 September.
"This is exciting news for residents of the Sunshine Coast," Cr Smith said.
"There is no doubt the Lake Kawana Community Centre has come of age, and is setting the benchmark for other venues across the Coast. "
"Music lovers across the Coast are for the first time, being spoilt for choice, with quality venues such as Lake Kawana stepping up to the mark and offering a steady flow of big name national and international performers.
"If there's something happening on the Sunshine Coast, there's a good chance it's happening at Lake Kawana."
Cr Smith said the venue is about to release details of another upcoming event also expected to boast some high profile national musicians in a series of free Sunday afternoon events in November.
In December, the venue will host internationally acclaimed Xavier Rudd.
The Waifs is an all ages event and will be licensed. Tickets are $47 and available from the venue, in person or credit card, ph 5437 1170. Doors open 7pm.
