The Diary of Frank Annie
By Jane Denver"There are some things you can't cover up with lipstick and powder…"
... It's about life, it's about expectations, it's about being single in this day and age! It's a humorous look at life through the eyes of seven very different characters.
Meet Annie, sensitive, sexy and still single. She looks at life through rose-coloured
Ray-Bans; and she's figured it out, men aren't from Mars at all. Women are from Mars,
men are from penis! She's planned a girlie weekend away. Recharged her mobile,
hammered her credit cards and shaved her underarms.
What could go wrong?
By the way … Mike and his mates are going away too.
Four women go away with everything perfectly planned and everything goes perfectly wrong. Three men go away with nothing planned what so ever and everything goes perfectly right.
Champagne and dermabrasion. VB and dick togs!
Who's right? Who's wrong? Who knows?
So says new playwright, Jane Denver, about her first play. With a strong funny script, well-known director Mary-Ann Vale (Away, Noises Off, Wolf Lullaby, Charitable Intent, Shirley Valentine
), producer Stephen Moore (Shirley Valentine, Oleanna, Steaming
), much admired actress Blossom Goodchild (Charitable Intent, Shirley Valentine
), her professional actor brother Damian Davis, plus local favourites Jenni McCaul (Blackrock, Table for One, Between Floors, Two Women & A Chair
) and Jane Rivers (Table for One, Falling From Grace
), Rayne Landelle (Steaming
), Frank Wilkie (Charitable Intent, Hotel Sorrento
) and James Crowther lining up, this promises to be a great night at the theatre.
