The Tin Can Bay Seafood Festival is a fantastic celebration of the wonderful variety of Local Fresh Seafood that our local primary producers have to offer, and a brilliant way to talk, taste and buy from them.
Food, fun, entertainment and plenty more for the whole family all on the beautiful foreshore parklands overlooking Tin Can Bay. With stalls, demonstrations, discussions, hands-on and other activities throughout the day, the Festival has something for everyone and is a great way for people to support the best of Tin Can Bay Seafood.
We’ve got entertainment throughout the day with some brilliant street performers, and local musicians and dancers. Relax at the main stage while eating your scrumptious fresh Seafood.
The festival program is jam packed with entertainment for everyone. Kids are guaranteed to be grinning from ear to ear when they see the myriad of fun activities at their disposal.
Special celebrity guest appearance
The Gympie region’s first official Food and Culinary Tourism Ambassador, celebrity chef Matt Golinski will be making a guest appearance at the Tin Can Bay Seafood Festival! Matt will be mingling with the festival crowd and ...sharing some great ideas on how to make the most of the region’s stunning seafood and delicious seasonal produce.
He will be conducting two food demonstrations throughout the day at 11 am and also 1pm in the afternoon. Come along and you may even pick up some tips.
Street Science Free Entertainment for the Kids
Liddell Education was founded by Steven Liddell, a fully qualified science educator who has a passion for bringing science to life. Steve has worked for many years teaching science in innovative ways and felt the need to take his engaging style of education out of the classroom and on tour around the state.
There will be two shows plus a rocket launch on the day provided for free this year, these shows have amazed youngsters and adults and is sure to be a great addition to the event this year.

Beer & Wine Garden
This year the Sleepy King Prawn Beer and Wine Garden is the only area on the festival site where alcohol is permitted. Our friends From the Sleepy Lagoon Hotel and Carlton United Brewery have made this a great place to relax with a cold vino or crisp ale so kick back and watch all the happenings of the festival in comfort. The AFL Grand Final will be televised live.
Make sure you don’t miss out on Mitre 10’s Home Brew Competition. In the vacintity of the bar we will have Dan & Steph, Winners of the 2013 My Kitchen Rules series. They will be in attendance selling their gourmet sausages on the day. Look out for them on the day

School Art Competition
The Local Fishing Industry and The Tin Can Bay Slipway are once again organizing the colouring in and poetry competition.
This year we have extended it out to Rainbow Beach State School, Kia Ora State School and local students who travel on buses, Tin Can Bay P-10 State School, Kiddly Winks & C&K Kindy.
Winners from each school involved will be eligible for helicopter flights from Blue Tongue Flights and P&C Amusements for prizes.
winners will be announced 8th September 2014. Entries will be on display at "The Big White Tent" on the 27th September at Seafood Festival.

Transport From Hervey Bay.
This year Atkinson shuttles have offered a shuttle service from Hervey Bay To the Tin Can Bay Seafood festival, departing Hervey bay at 7.00am and 9.00 am. The shuttles will be Departing the festival at 3.30pm and 5.30pm. This service is for groups of 6-7 and will cost $50.00 per person return trip.
