The Trans Tasman Gubbi Gubbi Waka Ama Championships (TTGGWA) and the National Junior Outrigger Titles is the only Australian outrigger canoe championship series exclusively for junior paddlers. Sanctioned by the outrigging’s governing body, the Australian Outrigger Canoe Racing Association (AOCRA), the pinnacle event in the Australian and Oceania Junior Outrigging calendar attracts hundreds of junior paddlers aged between 10 and 19 years of age from Australia, New Zealand and South Pacific Islands. Team, double, and individual races are to be held on the Sunshine Coast’s Lake Kawana and is set to attract over 1000 paddlers and visitors.
