Like to ride, but don't have a bike? No worries! Bikes and helmets will be available for hire on the day.
Each year the school that enters the highest number of participants in relation to its enrolment size will win a major prize for the school. 2006 prizes were awarded to Tewantin and Noosaville State Schools and Good Shepherd Lutheran College, with Tewantin State School taking home a brand new video camera. School's can contact email@example.com
to nominate a representative to coordinate your school's involvement, or students can nominate individually. An adult must accompany all children under 12 years.
Registration is a $2 donation and all funds raised will go to Butterfly Kids.
Butterfly Kids is a Noosa-based group who's aim is to help families who have children with disabilities. The group works tirelessly to provide support for those families. Their current project is to provide swing and play equipment at the Lions Park Noosaville that can be used by children in wheelchairs. These custom-built swings are quite expensive and Butterfly Kids has already raised quite a lot of money towards the project. All money collected at the Great Community Bike Ride will be donated towards this worthy cause.
As part of the TravelSmart Noosa's Great Community Bike Ride & Walk we have healthy lifestyle displays from local organisations such as Australian Sports Commission and Walk on Wheels. If your organisation is interested in having a display at this year's event please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
. There is no cost involved as this is a community event.
Whilst this event is not a race, thanks to our fabulous sponsors, each year we are fortunate enough to offer some fantastic lucky entry prizes. This year you can go in the draw for a brand new bike from Noosa Bike Hire valued at $225, Underwater World Family Passes, Australia Zoo passes, a Valley Rattler Family Pass, Noosa Council Recreational Facilities passes, and more.
There is even a new bike donated by Toyworld Noosa for the Trashiest Bike Competition!
All prizes are drawn on the day and you have to be there to win!!
