Sunshine Coast Business Council Director Gwyn Jarrott will outline how major investment over the next few years may shape a new identity for the region at the next UDIA Sunshine Coast breakfast on 28 June at the Maroochydore RSL.
Gwyn’s presentation will provide a summary of the recently released SCBC research which covers how the region’s economic indicators compare to comparative Queensland and Australian regions as well as interpreting the latest market trend data.
“It is clear that the multi-billion dollar investment in the local health sector will create a major source of consumer demand both nationally and internationally and it is important that we understand how this will transform our local economy.
“This investment will forever change the Coast’s identity, how we see ourselves and importantly how others see us as a region. However collaboration between business, government and the investment communities will be vital in order to deliver long term outcomes for our region,” Mr Jarrott said.
UDIA Sunshine Coast branch president Carl Nancarrow said the region faced a promising future and it was important for UDIA members to understand how they can capitalise on this growth.
“The UDIA’s mantra over the past few years have been all about jobs and the economy, we now have two newly elected levels of Government locally and on a state level who are committed to creating a brighter future for our region. It’s important that we maximise these opportunities which will evolve from this investment and ensure it becomes our competitive advantage,” he said.
