What are the issues that matter most to surfers at Noosa? What’s more important – crowd management or environmental management? Where do the crowds come from – are they local or tourists? And what boards does everyone ride? Sit back, relax and enjoy an evening with University of the Sunshine Coast researcher Dr Javier Leon and master-shaper Tom Wegener as they discuss these questions and more in a lively panel discussion about local surf culture.

Arrive early to catch acoustic sets from Shannon Sol Carroll Music and Oj Newcomb and take time to explore market stalls from surf-focussed organisations such as Surfrider Foundation and Noosa World Surfing Reserve.

Unwind with drinks and food on the terrace as you soak in the laid-back atmosphere of the iconic Noosa Festival of Surfing. For those without a curfew, stay on for a screening of Save The Waves Coalition Film Festival from 8pm.

This is a free event hosted by USC in conjunction with the Vonu Noosa Festival of Surfing.
