Minister for Small Business, Information Technology Policy and Multicultural Affairs
The Honourable Chris Cummins
BREAKFAST CLINIC FOR SUNSHINE COAST AND CABOOLTURE SMALL BUSINESS OPERATORS
Sunshine Coast and Caboolture small business owners are invited to attend a 'Value Stream Mapping' breakfast clinic, from 7.30am-9.30am on Tuesday 28 February at the Beerwah RSL Club.
Small Business Minister Chris Cummins and the Member for Glass House Carolyn Male said the clinic would show participants how to streamline their manufacturing processes and reduce manufacturing lead times, delivery times and inventory levels to improve productivity and profitability.
The clinic will focus on how to improve the flow from supplier all the way to customer and is being presented by Steve Dow from QMI Solutions on behalf of the Sunshine Coast and Caboolture State Development Centres.
"This clinic will help save small business operators' time, resources and money," Mr Cummins and Ms Male said.
"Participants will learn how to successfully eliminate the barriers that prevent material and information from flowing smoothly through their organisations.
"Value Stream Mapping cuts across all processes, functions and departments within a business operation and incorporates what are known as 'lean concepts and tools'.
"In business terminology, 'lean' is simply a business practice that focuses on waste elimination and delivery of value to customers.
"A 'lean' business uses the minimum amount of manpower, materials, money, machines and space to get the job done on time and to achieve maximum customer satisfaction."
The 'Value Stream Mapping' breakfast clinic costs $20.00.
