Here is a little more about our performers -
Sam Bailey and Aaron Day perform guitar artistry in their band Monkeybong. Sam and Aaron have had many influences over the years, including, Jack Johnson, The Beautiful Girls, Powderfinger, Xavier Rudd, Nirvana, David Bowie, John Butler Trio, Dispatch, Rodrigo Y Gabriela, Donovan and many more. Armed with only acoustic guitars and great voices, these young guys from Brisbane are set to do big things.
Surrender to the heavy rhythm and blues sounds of the Racketeers. Meaty, beaty, big and bouncy 60's freak beat sounds of bands like the Yardbirds, the Who, and the Kinks from the Swinging London era, with a side order of Slim Harpo, Bo Diddly and Chuck Berry. Get set for a swinging, dancing, fun time.
The love of the classic pop rock of the 60s and 70s brought Steve Tracey and Peter Koppes (the Church) together to form Psychedelia. Joined by ace guitarist, Ian Hildebrand, Brendan Hook on sax, flute and keys, and the gorgeous and talented Krystal Sister, Joye Campbell- Gibson, Psychedelia will rock the Moondance with an amazing selection of songs from the era that changed the modern world. La Contimba are masters latin world beat music, deeply entrenched in Afro Latin and Caribbean rhythms, they have their own take on tunes by the giants of latin jazz as well as self penned compositions. Guided by percussionist and vocalist Jalberto Maldonado, La Contimba also features the amazing Ric Halstead on sax, OJ Newcomb on bass, Rohan Somasakeran on keys and Anil Kumar on percussion.
