Noosa Council will be deciding on minor amendments to the Blue Care Development Application at the Ordinary Meeting starting at 6pm. At 5:30pm we will be meeting in front of Noosa Council Chambers in Tewantin to hand over the petition and comments to Cr Ingrid Jackson.

We have prepared placards and will be wearing black with a bit of red to express our sadness about what stands to happen to our Glossy Black Cockatoos, their precious Wallum habitat and our community.

It looks like only 15 individual trees of the 71 Glossy feed trees will be retained. Although there will be three stages to the development the site is to be cleared in one go. As before we are asking Blue Care / Uniting Church and Noosa Council to genuinely engage with the local community and do what's right by people and the environment.

Council has maintained its 'nothing can be done' attitude. Blue Care / Uniting Church have not communicated with us any further, despite previous assurance to the contrary. We are deeply saddened that our demands for the developer to rethink the development and work with us to make it kinder to nature, residents and adjacent schools in collaboration with Council seem to have fallen on deaf ears.

Join us, if you can.
