Following the enormous success of the initial Viva Italia production in 2013 the Queensland Pops Orchestra brings a new and even more spectacular concert in 2015. Passion, romance, red wine and pasta are some of the icons that Italy conjures up in our minds. So much great music has also come from Italy and this concert selects some of the greatest and most powerful music and brings it to life on stage.
Viva Italia Supremo will again feature the amazing voice of Anna‐Maria La Spina who rose to international fame when she toured with Savage Garden. Her duet album Always You with her brother and internationally renowned tenor Rosario saw even greater acclaim in 2009. This concert will hear some of her most upliŌing songs.
This concert will also feature the acclaimed vocal trio Tenori that comprises the talents of three of Queensland’s powerhouse tenors in a dynamic, uplifting and hugely entertaining performance. David Kidd, Craig Atkinson and Andrew Pryor met while touring internationally with The Ten Tenors and have gone on to work with Opera Australia, Opera Queensland and many of the country’s finest orchestras.
Individually, they have beautiful voices, together they sing like the band of brothers they are, with the camaraderie and precision that more than a decade of harmonising together can bring.
Adding spice and tradition the concert dancer Selene Pennetta will again dance the Pizzica. This traditional dance from Southern Italy brings passion and beauty to the stage and her fiery performance will evoke strong emotions.
Humours and talented Domenico Taraborrelli will perform on "The Stomach Steinway" with some of the great Neapolitan songs. He will also join with Tenori and Anna‐Maria in a finale that will leave you breathless.
Viva Italia Supremo – be entertained.
