Vote NO, Vote NOW - Plebiscite Rally
Noosa residents will soon have their last chance to save Noosa Shire when the Noosa plebiscite begins.
Residents will be asked to answer a simple "Yes" or "No" question. That question is: "Do you support the Queensland Government's decision to amalgamate your Council with other Council areas?" We urge you to vote NO.
"Realistically, this is probably our last chance to stop the amalgamation, said Mayor Bob Abbot.
"The more people who vote, the more pressure there will be on the government. If you don't vote, the State Government can say that the voters of Noosa don't care about being amalgamated."
To get people informed about the plebiscite a Vote No, Vote Now Plebiscite rally will be staged at the AFL Grounds on Weyba Road Noosaville on Sunday 18th November commencing at 9.00am during the Farmers Markets. The community are encouraged to participate in the event and wear their anti merger shirts. The Rally will provide an opportunity to reinvigorate the community's passion on amalgamation and learn how together we can make a difference. In the spirit of the day there will be entertainment and activities for the kids and family to ensure all get warmed up for Noosa's No to Amalgamation cause. The rally will finish at 10.00am.
