WANTIMA FESTIVAL FRIDAY 23RD JANUARY 2004 - WALLACE PARK NOOSAVILLE

WANTIMA - Gubbi Gubbi language for Noosa Heads - Rising Up - was inspired by the lack of recognition of the oldest living culture in the world. WANTIMA - acknowledges the traditional owners, the local indigenous community, and the non-indigenous caretakers of this land.

WANTIMA - extends an invitation to all people to grow, share and connect with the local Indigenous Dreaming of the 21st century.

A celebration of local indigenous life and culture, bringing together various artists, dancers, bush tucker with Dale Scott, demonstrations of traditional games, didgeridoo playing, boomerang throwing, stencil art workshops, and much much more!

As a curtain-raiser, we will hold an exhibition of local indigenous art in the Noosa Library from 12th - 24th January.

EXHIBITION OPENING TUESDAY 13TH JANUARY 6PM IN NOOSA LIBRARY FOYER
