Caloundra Family History Research Inc. is hosting the 3rd Queensland State Family and Local History Conference and Fair with the support of History Queensland Inc., at Venue 114. Commencing on Friday 24 May the free family and local history fair continues through Saturday and Sunday.
There will be five free public talks on Friday morning; in the afternoon registered conference participants can attend educational classes.
All day Saturday 25 May to noon on Sunday 26 May, presentations in two streams will be scheduled concurrently, one family history and one local history. The program will cover a broad range of topics and interests, including some for beginners, as well as more experienced researchers. On Saturday there will be two keynote speakers and 12 speakers in the two streams.
Sunday is a half-day with a keynote speaker and 4 speakers in two streams before ending at midday.
A Welcome Function showcasing Sunshine Coast produce and wines will be held on Friday 24 May from 6:00 – 8:00 pm at VENUE 114 with a Book Launch hosted by Boolarong Press.
A Sunshine Coast topic will be the subject of a speaker at the Conference Dinner on Saturday 25 May.
