Gunalda Western Performance Show coming to Nambour Showgrounds
The Gunalda & Districts Western Performance Club is holding a Western Performance Horse Show on at 8am to 5pm on Saturday 27 and 7.30am to 5pm on Sunday 28 of February at the Sunshine Coast Council Nambour Showgrounds.
More than 70 riders are expected each day for this Australian Quarter Horse Association run event, with approval for the multi-coloured paint horses to take part.
Local judge Kerris Holzberger will attend the Saturday show, and interstate judge Joanne Gregory is coming for the AA show on the Sunday.
This show is to help raise money for the Club's Junior Youth rider Stacey Bentley who has made it on to the Australian Paint Youth Team heading over to America later this year.
Stacey needs to raise more than $6000 to attend, so the Club is going all out to help her raise the money. Proceeds from a Calcutta to be held on the Sunday will be going to Stacey, as well as the proceeds from a Car Boot Sale held over both days, with new and old saddlery on offer.
The club is also having a Western Saddle Raffle supplied by the Blue Creek Saddlery, it is to the value of $3,200.
The Club has many great shows throughout the year with the biggest show, the Queensland All Breeds Western Performance State Show, to be held on 6,7 and 8 August.. This is now the second biggest Quarter Horse show in Queensland with competitors coming from all over the state, Mackay, Gold Coast and out to Roma.
