School Free Zone holiday fun

Looking for something fun to do with the kids over the June/July school holidays?

Sunshine Coast Council's 'School Free Zone' has a massive range of activities, workshops and events to keep the kids happy from 27 June to 12 July.

Over 70 events are happening at libraries, leisure and aquatic centres, galleries and council venues around the Coast.

Highlights include:
* Get into the groove at the music workshop 'To the heart beat' with rhythmic adventures, song, movement, vocals and percussion. Cooroy Butter Factory Arts Centre, 1 and 6 July, 9.30am -- 1.30pm.
* Abra kadabra kazam! Join the Magicianess, Grumbledore the Wizard, and Magic the White Rabbit for dazzling magic shows at libraries around the Coast.
* Improve swim skills at the Polar Bear Program that focuses on race skills for older swimmers and safety and survival for the youngsters. Coolum Aquatic Centre, 6 to 10 July.
* Come to the Harry Potter party dressed as your favourite character! Get ready for magic mayhem at Caloundra Library on 10 July and Maroochydore Library on 2 July from 6pm - 7.45pm.
* Ahoy me hearties! Join Captain Rob for tall tales of the seven seas at libraries around the Coast.
* Shout Out Loud Festival -- the largest youth arts event on the Coast -- with over 260 young people performing, presenting and producing this year's FREE event at The J from 11am -- 11pm on 4 July.
* Variety galore at the vacation care program at Noosa Leisure Centre. Treasure hunts, gymnastics, nature walks, cooking lessons, scrap booking, barefoot bowls and gallery visits are part of the program on weekdays from 29 June to 13 July.
* Create rhythms, music and song using your body and voice at the 'Body Music with Delany' workshop. Cooroy Butter Factory Arts Centre, 9 July.
