White Ribbon Day committee chair, Queensland Police Service, Sunshine Coast District Officer Superintendent Darryl Johnson said that White Ribbon Day aims to create an Australian society where everyone can live in safe and free from violence and abuse.

"Over 12 months, on average, one woman is killed every week in Australia as a result domestic violence," Superintendent Darryl Johnson said.

"As leaders in our community, we need to take responsibility to stop all types of violence,”
