To find out the answer to this question and for essential tips to safeguard your financial future and even prosper, Division 5 Councillor Jenny McKay encourages residents to come along to a special presentation by renowned finance and energy expert Nicole Foss next week.
Ms Foss – who will present at the Big Pineapple at 6pm on Thursday 9 February as part of a nationwide tour – warns that a decades-long credit expansion based on a credit bubble is ending and as a consequence, we are in the grip of a serious deflationary financial crisis.
“Financial bubbles have burst in the past but we have been able to recover because of the ready supply of cheap energy,” Ms Foss said.
“This time, we will not recover because energy, particularly oil, will become increasingly more expensive.”
According to Ms Foss, energy shortages, along with climate change, population growth, food insecurity and political unrest, are forming a “perfect storm” that will disrupt our whole industrial system.
Cr McKay said she encourages residents to attend this important financial information session.
“While we may seem to be tucked away from financially volatile world events here on the Sunshine Coast, the reality is, we have many of the same influencing economic factors as everyone else,” Cr McKay said.
“Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to catch finance and energy guru, Nicole Foss in her first Australian tour.”
British-born Canadian resident, Ms Foss writes as “Stoneleigh” on the website http://theautomaticearth.blogspot.com/. In her presentations in Australia in February, she will discuss what is coming, why it is coming, what people can do about it, and how urgent it is.
Ms Foss has degrees in biology and law and has received two major university prizes. While living in the UK she was a Research Fellow at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies.
