an hilarious study of an unnaturally “Wilde” species

Posturing peacocks, adolescent chicks, old boilers, egg bound breeding hens and even old cocks feature in this ornithological study of a rarified species in a most “un” natural habitat.

Following a successful “lecture” at Adelaide Zoo as part of the Fringe, the show’s cast again don spectacular plumage to mimic the mating habits of an extinct and curious species – the Victorian Upper class.

Speckled with one liners and cutting observations from the era’s grandest old bird, Oscar Wilde aka “The Irish Peacock”, the performance is a humorous and very informative examination of the London Season and its mating rituals.

Marriage, class and gender come under close scrutiny. Who rules the roost? Who’s who in the pecking order? Corsets, coupling – and ruffled feathers fly!
