ALL ABOUT JACK – Black Comedy written by Sue Sewell directed by Sue Sewell

Doris lives in a retirement home with her memories of the war, her husband Ernie and her son Jack, who she has not seen since he was sent to prison many years ago. Doris is the life and soul of the retirement home and always ready with a joke, but she carries an underlying guilt.  She thinks that Jack will visit her one day and then she will be able to make her apology to him for what happened many years before.  This appears to be impossible until an unexpected turn of events. This is a touching and funny little play that tells a story of love, trust and friendship

Cast: Susie Pritchard, John McMahon, Sue Clapham, Kath Norton and Glynn Mitchell.

OLD FASHIONED MANORS Comedy written by Roger Gimblett directed by Jacqui Mata Luque

Miss H is a spinster who owns the ‘Old Manor’ and operates a bed and breakfast for tourists. Her only companion is Henry a Persian cat. Backpackers Steve and Kylie arrive to stay the night and spend the evening politely listening to Mrs H’s non stop chatter. After all, she is lonely and doesn’t actually get many guests. As the evening draws to a close and they have retired for the night, the peace and quiet of the house erupts into mayhem and they can’t wait to get away from the ‘Old Manor’. Miss H has a ghastly secret! What can it be?

Cast: Meghan Lucken, Lachlan Money, Alice Rea and Kiti Bruinsma

THE KNOCK ON THE DOOR Drama written by Bruce Olive directed by John McMahon

In 1915 Gladys and Harold wait for news of their 18 year old son, who is fighting at Gallipoli. Nearly 100 years later, Cate waits patiently in the same suburban house for the return of her husband, fighting in Afghanistan. Through these parallel lives, this play explores how Australians, particularly women, have attempted to cope with the anxiety of loved ones fighting overseas.

Cast: Bruce Olive, Jenni McCaul, Ewan Cameron and Paula Johnston

THE PIE AND THE TART Farce written by Hugh Chesterman directed by Wendy Silvester

This play is an adaption of a 15th Century French farce.  Pierre and Jean are vagabonds accustomed to life on the streets of Paris.  When they hear of a delicious eel pie being kept in a nearby house, they use charm and trickery to try to win it for themselves.

Cast: Amy Maguire, Rob Attenborough, Susan M Brown and David Frank.
