Women Of Aviation Worldwide Week is a global outreach initiative that takes place annually during the week of March 8, the anniversary date of the world’s first female pilot license since 1910 and International Women’s Day since 1914.

The week is designed to raise awareness of aviation opportunities available to girls of all ages while celebrating the accomplishments of past and present women of aviation.

On 11th March 2017, for the second year running, members of the Sunshine Coast Aero Club are pleased to do their part to foster gender balance in aviation by inviting girls and women of all ages, who have not done so before, to join us for our Open Day and take the controls of one of our fantastic training aircraft, under the watchful eyes of a skilled instructor, to experience the fun and opportunities that aviation offers.  United across borders, we create a warm, welcoming, hard-to-miss and hard-to-resist message aimed at the female population at large. Each year, the week has a theme that highlights a historical female achievement in aviation.

To fulfil the vision of the pioneers who stood up to open the doors of aviation for all women, we extend a warm welcome to girls of all ages, to fly with us for free!  So girls, what are you waiting for?  Register NOW for your free flight on 11th March 2017.

The small registration fee and all funds raised will be donated to “SunnyKids“,  our sponsored charity for this year’s event.
