Young People to 'GET CONNECTED' 23/02/2006
GET CONNECTED is a program for young people to develop their skills and experience in hip-hop songwriting, MCing and Street Poetry. Run by Creative Noosa and funded by Festivals Australia, the programme is part of a month-long residency at the Cooroy Butter Factory by artists Ghostboy & MC Trey.
Organiser Katie Edmiston says workshops will be staged several times a week at the Butter Factory, on weekday afternoons and Saturdays, starting from May 3rd. The creative results of the residencies will be presented as part of the inaugural SHOUT OUT LOUD - Youth Arts Festival to be held in June.
Recently appointed as the new Community Cultural Development Officer for Creative Noosa, Katie Edmiston said the program will provide invaluable opportunities for young people to be mentored by leading Australian artists.
