1000 reasons why Labor can't be trusted to fix transport mess

Published:

The Palaszczuk Labor Government has delivered more spin over substance today, as rail fail nears 1000 days.

LNP Leader Deb Frecklington said embattled Transport Minister Mark Bailey can't be trusted to fix South East Queensland's biggest public transport bungle.

"Queensland is approaching 1000 days of Labor's rail fail and it won't get any better, any time soon," Ms Frecklington said.

"Labor hasn't promised any new seats.

"Today's announcement are the seats Labor cut because of their rail fail in 2016.

"While 105 net new drivers falls well short of the 200 needed.

"The Palaszczuk Labor Government promised a fully restored timetable by December 2018 as recommended by the Strachan Inquiry and Queenslanders have been left waiting in limbo.

"Labor's rail fail will forever be a legacy of Annastacia Palaszczuk and Mark Bailey.

"Nearly 1000 days of cut services, delays and commuters left stranded.

"Queensland commuters shouldn't believe a word Mark Bailey says Labor fails to deliver.

"This sorry and expensive saga shows Queenslanders can't afford Labor.

"SEQ has a congestion crisis because of infrastructure cuts and major public transport fails by Labor.

"Annastacia Palaszczuk doesn't have a clue what Queensland commuters go through, because her preferred mode of transport is a taxpayer funded jet.

"Labor finally had a chance today to get Queensland back on track but instead commuters have been derailed with false hope and fake promises."
