The medal tally for athletes from the University of the Sunshine Coast sits at: 4 gold, 2 silver, 4 bronze.

Below is a full update of how USC’s 17-strong contingent of athletes are faring at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games 

  • GOLD: USC cyclists Leigh Howard, Kelland O’Brien and Sam Welsford (and team mate Alex Porter) have secured a gold medal and a world record time of 3 minutes and 49.804 seconds in the Men’s 4000m Team Pursuit.   • GOLD: USC swimmer Jake Packard and the Australian team win gold in the Men’s 4x100m Medley Relay final, setting a new games record of 3.31.04. Results here.
  • GOLD: USC cyclist Sam Welsford won a gold medal in the Men's 15km Scratch Race Finals cycling. Results here.
  • GOLD: USC swimmer Leah Neale and Australian teammates win gold in Women’s 4x200m freestyle relay and set new Games record of 7.48.04. Results here.
  • SILVER: USC swimmer Blake Cochrane silver medal in SM8 200m individual medley final. Results here.

  • Kaylee McKeown in 400m individual medley heats:  Placed fourth in her heat. Results here.

  • Geva Mentor (playing for England) in netball preliminary match. England won. Results here.

  • Kaylee McKeown in 100m backstroke heats. Won heat qualifying her for tonight's semi-final after 8.55pm. Results here

  • Karla Mostert (South Africa) in netball preliminary match. 46 - 57 to Jamaica. Results here.
