A message to our Members and fans 💛

Published:

Dear valued Members and fans,

More than ever, we appreciate your support and patience during these challenging times.

Last night the Super Netball League (SNL), in consultation with SSN Clubs, released an update on the 2020 Suncorp Super Netball season.

Sunshine Coast Lightning fully supports the cancellation of the Team Girls Cup and the restriction on interstate travel during pre-season in an effort to restrict the spread of COVID-19 and focus on the SSN season ahead.

So where to from here? The League, in conjunction with SSN Clubs and key stakeholders, is in the process of modelling several scenarios for the 2020 season, taking into consideration the Government restrictions currently in place and the uncertainty of the next few months.

A further update on the 2020 season will be provided next Thursday 26 March following an SNL Commission meeting. We appreciate your patience as we continue to work alongside the SNL in determining the most effective outcome for the season under the circumstances.

The health and wellbeing of our players, staff, officials, Members, fans and the wider community remain at the forefront of these decisions.

Our players are in good spirits and focussed on their preparation for the season and you can continue to engage with them and our Club via our social media platforms.

We understand you have many questions and the impact on Members and fans is top of mind as we continue to work with SNL, Clubs and stakeholders.

We are committed to keeping our loyal Members and fans up-to-date through our social media platforms as more information becomes available.

Thank you once again for your patience and ongoing supportas we navigate through these unchartered waters.  Wishing you all the best of health.

Go Lightning!
