Get ready to enjoy a delicious variety of street food, drinks, live music and lawn games at the first StrEATside market this Sunday 23 August at The Metropolitan (MET) within the new Maroochydore CBD.

StrEATside Market operator Andrew Sisley said the weekly market will operate every Sunday from 11am until 8pm.

“We have been planning this day for quite some time and we are excited to announce that we have some fantastic food vendors locked in including Parma Street Food, who were recently selected as Top Three Food Trucks on the Sunshine Coast by Three Best Rated.

“Other stallholders include Chilli Sisters, Flavours of Brazil, That Pizza Guy, Gopals Pure Vegetarian and Harri Dumplings. We will also have coffee, ice cream and donut vans, so there’s something there for all ages and tastes,” Andrew said.

A talented line up of musicians have also been confirmed for the opening Sunday, including South African born award winning singer songwriter Hayden Hack from midday, followed by popular local songbird Andrea Kirwin and brothers Frank and Louis, who will take guests into the early evening with their mesmerizing indie folk tone.

“We will have a big picnic area with soft blankets and lawn games, so people can enjoy their food and soak in the vibe under the shade of umbrellas. It will be just like a Sunday picnic in the park, but you don’t have to bring anything,” Andrew said. “The large, fenced in grassy space is also a perfect place for families with young children.”

Andrew said the long duration of the markets, from 11am until 8pm, means more patrons will have the opportunity to come along and experience the event at some point in their day.

“The morning visitors will experience the energy of the opening as they prepare for lunch, then as the day progresses, people can relax in the park, enjoy some food and a few drinks while watching the live entertainment. As the sun sets, we welcome the night-time guests who can select their dinner from our diverse range of vendors as the entertainment continues until closure at 8pm,” he said.

StrEATside markets will meet all Covid safe requirements including social distancing measures and supplying abundant sanitisers across the whole market to ensure all guests have an enjoyable and safe experience whenever they visit.
