Stockland is hosting a night of free family fun at its Birtinya community on Saturday, 19 May, with an outdoor movie screening and children’s entertainment as part of the Sunshine Coast Surf Film Festival.
The event, which will be held at Florey Park, will start at 4pm with music and delicacies from food trucks for purchase. A range of activities for the kids will also be on offer including table tennis and handball, followed by the screening of the animated penguin surfing movie Surf’s Up which commences at 5.30pm.
Mark McMahon, Senior Development Manager at Stockland, invited Birtinya residents and visitors to pack a picnic blanket and gather up the kids to enjoy a fun night for all the family.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to meet your neighbours, make some new friends and enjoy a free movie under the stars,” Mr McMahon said.
“We believe in providing high quality amenities and exciting events for our Birtinya residents to get the most out of where they live.
“With our new Bokarina Beach residential precinct right on the beachfront and Birtinya within walking distance of the waves, the Sunshine Coast Surf Film Festival is a perfect fit for our community.”
Surf’s Up tells the story of an ambitious penguin surfer Cody Maverick who enters his first pro surf competition determined to succeed only to find that winning isn’t everything.
The film is part of the Sunshine Coast Surf Film Festival which is sponsored by Stockland. For more details visit https://scsff.com.au/surfs-up/
